WHAT TO EXPECT
BEFORE YOUR TREATMENT
To prepare for your appointment, we typically recommend:
• Avoiding excessive sun exposure or tanning for 5–7 days prior to treatment
• Avoiding retinoids, exfoliating acids, or active skincare products for 3–5 days before treatment
• Arriving with clean skin free of makeup, lotions, or sunscreen
• Informing your provider of any recent skin treatments or sensitivities
DURING THE TREATMENT
During a MOXI treatment, a handheld laser device passes over the skin to deliver controlled fractional energy. Patients typically feel a warm, prickling sensation as the laser creates tiny micro-coagulation zones in the skin. A topical numbing cream is usually applied beforehand to maximize comfort. The treatment itself is relatively quick, usually taking about 15–30 minutes depending on the area being treated.
AFTER YOUR TREATMENT
After MOXI, it is normal to experience mild redness and a warm sensation similar to a mild sunburn for several hours. Over the next few days, the skin may feel slightly rough or develop tiny sandpaper-like dots as the treated skin begins to renew itself.
