RADIESSE

Radiesse Collagen-Stimulating Dermal Filler in San Antonio, Texas

WHAT IS RADIESSE?

Radiesse is an FDA-approved biostimulator made from calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) microspheres that provides immediate volume while also stimulating the body’s natural collagen production.

Unlike traditional hyaluronic acid fillers, Radiesse works by both restoring lost volume and improving the skin’s underlying structure and quality over time.

Once injected beneath the skin, the gel carrier provides instant lift and contour while the CaHA microspheres stimulate collagen production, helping the skin become firmer and more youthful as the body gradually absorbs the filler.

Radiesse is commonly used to treat areas such as the cheeks, jawline, chin, nasolabial folds, neck and hands, making it an excellent option for patients looking to restore volume, improve skin structure, and achieve natural-looking facial rejuvenation.

BENEFITS OF RADIESSE

Radiesse provides both immediate volume and long-term collagen stimulation, helping restore youthful facial contours while improving overall skin quality.

Benefits may include:

  • Immediate lifting and contouring

  • Stimulates natural collagen production

  • Improves facial structure and definition

  • Softens lines and folds

  • Long-lasting results compared to many fillers

  • Natural-looking facial rejuvenation results

  • Can improve skin thickness and firmness

Because Radiesse stimulates collagen, many patients notice continued improvements in skin quality for months after injection.

WHAT IS HYPER-DILUTE RADIESSE?

Hyper-dilute Radiesse is a specialized technique where Radiesse is mixed with saline and lidocaine to create a thinner, more spreadable consistency. This allows the product to be distributed more evenly across larger treatment areas rather than being used for targeted volume and structure.

When diluted, Radiesse acts less like a traditional filler and more like a biostimulatory treatment, helping to stimulate collagen production and improve overall skin quality. This makes it especially effective for areas such as the neck, décolletage, arms, and areas with crepey or thinning skin.

Instead of adding noticeable volume, hyper-dilute Radiesse helps improve skin texture, firmness, and elasticity over time, resulting in a smoother and more refreshed appearance.

AREAS WE CAN TREAT

Radiesse is a versatile treatment that can be used to enhance facial structure, restore volume, and improve overall skin quality. At Lotus Med Spa, we customize each treatment based on your goals, using different techniques to create natural, balanced results.

CONTOUR & DEFINE

Radiesse can be used to enhance and define facial structure, helping create a more sculpted and balanced appearance.

  • Jawline

  • Chin

  • Cheeks

  • Butt

This approach helps improve definition and support while maintaining a natural look.

RESTORE VOLUME

As we age, volume loss can lead to hollowing and deeper folds in the face. Radiesse helps restore this lost volume while supporting long-term collagen production.

  • Nasolabial folds (smile lines)

  • Marionette lines

  • Cheeks

  • Hands

  • Butt

Treating these areas can help create a more refreshed and youthful appearance.

REJUVENATE & IMPROVE SKIN QUALITY

Radiesse can also be used to improve overall skin quality by stimulating collagen and helping the skin appear smoother, firmer, and more youthful over time.

  • Neck

  • Décolletage (chest)

  • Lower face

  • Arms

  • Butt & Thighs

  • Stomach

  • Crepey or thinning skin

This approach focuses on enhancing skin texture, firmness, and elasticity rather than adding volume.

SCULPTRA VS RADIESSE

Sculptra is made from poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) and is designed to gradually stimulate collagen production over time. It is often used for overall facial volume restoration, facial hollowing, and long-term collagen support. Results develop gradually and are ideal for patients who want subtle, progressive rejuvenation.

Sculptra is commonly chosen for:

• Full-face collagen stimulation
• Facial hollowing
• Volume loss in the cheeks and temples
• Long-term structural support

Because of the way Sculptra works, it may not be the best option for patients with autoimmune disease, which is why consultation and medical history review are important.

Radiesse is made from calcium hydroxylapatite (CaHA) microspheres and provides both immediate support and collagen stimulation. Unlike Sculptra, Radiesse gives some visible structure right away while also helping the body build collagen over time.

Radiesse is commonly chosen for:

  • Facial support & contour

  • Chin enhancement

  • Hand rejuvenation

  • Neck rejuvenation

  • Full body rejuvenation (besides breasts)

Radiesse is often a great option for patients who want more immediate structure and collagen support, and it is generally considered a safer collagen-stimulating option for patients with autoimmune conditions, depending on the individual case.

BEFORE AND AFTER

WHAT TO EXPECT

BEFORE YOUR TREATMENT

Before receiving Radiesse, your provider will evaluate your facial anatomy and discuss your aesthetic goals to determine the best treatment plan for you. To prepare for treatment, we typically recommend:

• Avoiding blood thinning medications or supplements (such as aspirin, ibuprofen, fish oil, and vitamin E) for 3–5 days prior, if medically appropriate
• Avoiding alcohol for 24 hours before treatment
• Arriving with clean skin free of makeup or skincare products
• Informing your provider of any previous filler treatments or medical conditions

DURING THE TREATMENT

During the procedure, your provider will strategically inject Radiesse into the targeted areas using a cannula. Radiesse is formulated with lidocaine to improve comfort during treatment. Most patients describe the injections as quick and tolerable, with mild pressure or pinching sensations as the biostimulator is placed. Treatment typically takes 30–45 minutes depending on the number of areas being treated.

AFTER YOUR TREATMENT

After Radiesse injections, it is normal to experience mild swelling, redness, tenderness, or bruising at the injection sites. These effects are temporary and usually resolve within a few days.

Following treatment, patients are generally advised to:

• Avoid strenuous exercise for 24 hours
• Avoid excessive heat, saunas, or sun exposure for 24–48 hours
• Massage the treated areas unless instructed by your provider
• Sleep with your head slightly elevated the first night to minimize swelling

Results are visible immediately after treatment, with continued improvement as collagen production increases over the following weeks.
