Laser Genesis YAG - Skin Treatments and Laser Hair Removal

The laser genesis treatment stimulates the dermal layer of the skin through thermal heating to enhance collagen production. Collagen plays a huge roll in replenishment of cells and the replacement of damaged cells, and as we age our body produces less of it. Gentle light therapy stimulates collagen production, reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. The main difference between YAG and IPL is that YAG penetrates the skin deeper, allowing it to be safe for all skin tones and adds more treatment areas and concerns.

Laser Hair Removal

LHR is a medical procedure that uses IPL (intense pulse light) or YAG (all skin types) to damage or destroy a hair follicle. During the procedure, the laser emits a light that is absorbed by the pigment in the hair. The light energy is converted to heat, which damages the tube-shaped sacs within the skin (hair follicles) that produce hairs. This damage inhibits or delays future hair growth.

LHR targets growing hair follicles, and hair growth occurs in cycles. This is why you need more than one treatment, to constantly target new hair follicles. The Lotus advises 3-6 treatments spaced 6-8 weeks apart, then yearly for maintenance if needed.
